ABOUT Sarah is a Registered Architect and member of the RAIA. She graduated with honours from the University of New South Wales and grew up on the north coast of NSW. Sarah has worked in various areas of Architecture from hospitality and tourism to larger commercial buildings and has won design awards for her residential projects in the local area including ‘Best use of Colour” for her own home and ‘Best Renovation under 250K’ for a residential project in Bellingen. Sarah has worked with various established and renowned architects both in Sydney, Brisbane and Coffs Harbour. She spent time working in London and Edinburgh before heading back to the Coffs Harbour area with her young family. Her vast array of experience in both commercial and residential design led to her establishing her own practice ‘Armstrong Architects' in Coffs Harbour 4 years ago. SERVICES Concept Design Concept design is the starting point for architectural projects. Through site meetings and consultation with our clients, we establish a brief and budget for the project. Most presentation drawings are free-hand and outline the parameters and concepts for the design. Documentation This stage is about producing a set of documents that are suitable for tendering to selected builders and finally for construction. This stage is incredibly important in gaining accurate quotes from builders. The less detail in the drawing and specification the less accurate a builder’s quote– which leads to blow outs during the construction phase! Administration This stage is vital in ensuring the building progress runs smoothly.
